As an official language in the Philippines, English is used in government and law, education, media, business and industry. Curriculum Description
The AB in English Language/AB in English Language Studies program shall have a minimum of 134 units. The curriculum consists of five (5) parts: (a) General Education Courses, (b) Core Courses, (c) Major Courses and (d) Cognates and (e) Foreign Language elective
Means of Curriculum Delivery
Lectures. The theories courses will rely primarily on lectures and class discussions.
Group Discussions. To encourage the students to develop critical thinking and creative expression, group discussions will be conducted to be supervised closely by the teacher.
Library Research. Library research will develop critical inquiry and train the students for systematic data gathering and evaluation of information.
Field Work/ Practicum/ Internship. The students will be required to engage in field work, practicum activities and internship to provide them with opportunities for experiential learning and to prepare them for the workplace.

History is the study of the past, encompassing every dimension of human experience — social life, the economy, culture, thought, and politics. Students of history study individuals, groups, communities, and nations from every imaginable form the variety of perspective, using all the techniques of the humanities and the social sciences to understand why events happen, how people experienced these events, and how these events reshaped the societies we live in. By understanding the diversity of human experience and how it has changed over time, we are able to understand others and ourselves.
History is essential to individuals and society, for history tells the national history, portrays the distinctive features of the national experience, thus forging an understanding of national values and a commitment to the nation.

The history program aims to provide a wide variety of introductory and advanced courses that will introduce students to the ways in which historians recreate the past, and to build skills of historical research, analysis and writing. History informs our understanding of the world around us. A historical perspective will give one a richer appreciation of human experience.

Curriculum Description
The BA History program has a total of one hundred seven (107) units, of which thirty six (36) are general education courses, the remaining seventy six (71) units are distributed among the discipline's Core, Major, Cognates/Electives, Thesis, Practicum, Physical Education and National Service Training Program (NSTP).
General Education Courses essentially prepare the students for the study of history with exposure to the other social sciences, the humanities and the natural sciences, based on CHED CMO on General Education.
Core Course is a compulsory course, which provides basic knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes in the study of history.
Major Course focuses on the program major or area of specialization.
Cognates/Electives expose students in related fields of inquiry to the discipline.
Thesis Requirement for the Program
As a culmination of the BA History program, the course requires the student to write a major historical essay/senior thesis/oral history project, under the guidance of a faculty adviser.
On-the-job Training or Practicum Requirements
The student should get exposure in research, teaching, management of documentary materials and other historical records in repositories, museum work and other related works.

Program Description
The program outcomes reflect the set of competencies and values the learners will be able to demonstrate at the time of graduation from the BA PoS program. The program outcomes shall flow from the respective mission/vision and graduate attributes of the higher education institutions and shall translate into the level of course outcomes and learning outcomes (lesson/topic level). The program outcomes are achieved through a more detailed list of identified core competencies expressed as behaviors that can be observed and assessed. The competencies are a collection of related knowledge, attitude and skills required to successfully perform tasks that support the desired program outcomes of a course or series of courses.
These standards merely provide the core outcomes for the BA PoS program. Each institution shall be given the flexibility to design its own set of program outcomes depending on their thrusts, niches and strengths. There can also be institutional type-dependent outcomes. The focus of each institution can vary according to its dominant mission who may find expression in extensive research, professional training or relevant outreach/extension work.
On the other hand, the Commission in consultation with relevant stakeholders shall ensure that the core outcomes are responsive to the needs of the sector it serves. These outcomes are derived from a combination of both national and benchmarked standards such as the Philippine-Qualifications Framework (PQF), the CMO 46 series of 2012 and similar programs in the Asia-Pacific Region and other regions of the world in terms of quality standards.
The American Political Science Association, the first association of political scientists to distinguish the discipline form others, defines Political Science as the study of governments, public policies and political behavior, using both humanistic and scientific perspectives and skills to examine all countries and regions of the world. From this definition, it is important to emphasize that the discipline deals with a rather broad spectrum of concerns, understanding the links between the individual (micro) and the institutional (macro), and the connections between the national and global structures of policy making and politics. Political Science scholars, national professional associations with their distinctive traditions and interests, and scholarly outputs have also been growing in number throughout the world, as evidenced by the growing membership and activities reported by the International Political Science Association.
While the undergraduate program must conform the minimum requirements set forth, Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) that offer the program are given the latitude to add courses that are deemed necessary to allow the students a deeper exploration and understanding of the various fields in the discipline and equip them with the competencies necessary to assess and respond to a myriad of political concerns and problems that require particular policies, programs or in general, political action.

Nature of the Field Study
The academic program of Bachelor of Performing Arts will comprise mandatory course components in theory and criticism, aesthetics and semiotics, music, movement and choreography.
The dance shall produce graduates who are highly skilled practitioners of their specific technique, genre, and style and who are competent in the theory, history, literature and production of the dance. The theater program shall produce graduates who are highly skilled practitioners of their field of concentration (i.e. directing, acting, production and design) and who are competent in the theory, history and literature of theater.
