The NCAA Season 96 began last June 13, 2021, following a new format and calendar due to the cancellation of contact sports--deeming online sports platforms to be the safest option-- thus, online Chess became one of the main events of the season.

The Junior division was highlighted by the very strong performance of Jasper Faeldonia who masterfully made his way to the quarterfinals, against Emilio Aguinaldo College’s Reginald Canlas. However, Faeldonia’s trip to the semifinals was halted by Letran’s Christian Mark Daluz.

The approval of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the resumption of the conduct of competitive contact sports, specifically men’s basketball and women’s volleyball, was met with great appreciation by school authorities, students, alumni, and other sports enthusiasts.

However, the approval is hinged on very strictly following the safety protocols based on the guidelines issued by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Health (DOH), the IATF, and the Local Government Units (LGU) under a system called the “Sports Bubble”.

Arellano University inched closer to a Final Four spot in the NCAA Season 95 Men’s Volleyball Tournament after dismantling Colegio de San Juan de Letran in straight sets, 25-22, 25-12, 25-17, Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The win catapulted Arellano to third seed with a 5-2 slate.

Still, head coach Sherwin Meneses is keeping his players on their toes while putting a premium on a step-by-step approach for the rest of the preliminaries.

Arellano recovered from a third-set hiccup and withstood Mapua’s fourth-set scare, pulling off a 26-24, 25-19, 22-25, 25-23, decision to pick up its second win in the NCAA Season 95 men’s volleyball tournament, Thursday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

Arellano University raised the curtains to its four-peat bid on a positive note, turning back Lyceum of the Philippines University in a tight straight-set affair, 27-25, 25-20, 25-20, in the NCAA Season 95 Women’s Volleyball Tournament, Friday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
