At this point in time, coach Chico Ogot Manabat has gone full circle in his NCAA basketball career. In 1992-1995, he played in the NCAA for the San Sebastian Staglets. After joining other leagues as player, and later as coach, he joined Arellano University as head coach of the AU Chiefs, which competes in the NCAA.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) will hold its Opening Ceremony at the Araneta Coliseum on September 10, 2022. Season 98 is features seven game categories, namely basketball, volleyball, chess, swimming, taekwondo, track and field and cheerleading. All the games will be held face-to-face, except for taekwondo and chess which will be held on-line. Basketball will be its initial offering with Letran Knights and The Generals of the Emilio Aguinaldo College engaging Season 98 in the first match of the season.

We are saying good-bye to some of our star players, but we are happy that they have found their place in the sports world. Nard John V. Pinto and Prince Renmer B. Caperal are in Global Port, and Keith Agovida is with Sta. Lucia. Good luck to them in their new teams ! Two of our players have joined D-League teams: Giovanni Jalalon, is with Sinag Pilipinas while Levi Hernandez is playing with Foton Tornadoes.

The launch of the NCAA Season 96 took place last June 13, 2021, with non-contact sports set to play--Online chess and Taekwondo. The league also held a skills challenge for basketball and volleyball players focused mainly on the alumni of the varsity teams. The NCAA ruled out the holding of full-contact sports due to the COVID Pandemic in strict compliance with the rules and regulations of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
