Arellano Pulls Off Three-peat in NCAA Cheerleading Tilt

Arellano University ruled the Season 94 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) cheerleading competition for the third straight year on Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The Chiefs wowed the crowd with a flawless pyramid formation to the tune of 90s music as they post the top score of 229.5 points en route to taking home the P100,000 cash prize.
University of Perpetual Help System DALTA finished second with 222.5 points and bagged the P75,000 first runner up prize.
“Despite the minor errors, they did their best to win and we were happy about the result,” said Arellano coach Lucky San Juan, who is now looking forward to accomplishing a four-peat next season. “I saw their heart and determination. The hard work has finally paid off.”

“We did not give up and we performed as a family,” said Arellano University team captain Ernelyn Saga from Agusan Del Sur.

Mapua University finished third with 211.5 points and brought home P50,000.

Colegio de San Juan Letran finished fourth (207 points), College of Saint Benilde fifth (203), San Beda University sixth (189), Jose Rizal University seventh (178.5) and Emilio Aguinaldo College eighth (170.5).

Arellano University also beat Perpetual Help for the top prize last year.

Meanwhile, San Beda University copped its seventh overall and fourth straight senior general championship title with 698 points, while University of Perpetual Help System DALTA captured its first junior general championship crown with 365 points.
