Second Batch of Japanese Students Attend CCPP in AU Partner Institutions

After a successful visit in 2017 Gunma University Gunma Prefecture, Japan sent a second batch of 27 Nursing and 2 Social Welfare students to attend the Community Clinical Placement Program (CCPP) of the International Nursing Program (INP) of Arellano University from March 17-March 25, 2019. 
The students were accompanied by three professors: Prof. Atsuhiko Taguchi, Prof. Yoko Kobayashi and Prof. Eiko Tokita.

Their program of activities included a visit to Childhaus, a temporary shelter for indigent children from the provinces who have cancer and other dreaded diseases and have no place to stay in Metro Manila while undergoing evaluation and treatment; conduct of health screenings and health teaching to Grade 1 students of Arellano University; a visit at Camillus Medhaven, a Philippine-based nursing home that provides resident-oriented, long time, full-time care, rehabilitative therapies and day care service to seniors, persons with disabilities, especially disabled children.   

A visit at The Medical City allowed the students to observe a well-staffed health institution with state of the arts medical facilities providing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients. A 3-day stay in Pangil, Laguna was spent in home visits, health assessments, vitamin A supplementation, pre-natal check-up, feeding, duty and tour at a government hospital. The activities were capped by a city tour, visiting Luneta, Intramuros and shopping at the Mall of Asia.

 The activities were organized and managed by the International Nursing Program headed by Dr. Emerita Mendoza, assisted by the INP faculty members and the Community Coordinator Ms. Bernardita Navalta.
