Many people are not well informed about Radiologic Technology (RadTech) as an area of specialization in health care. Probably, this is because when one gets sick he is exposed mostly to doctors and nurses. But a sick person’s treatment involves a group of health workers, and the radiologic technologist is one of them.
John Fritz Forteza was introduced to RadTech in his immersion class in Senior High School. He learned about the imaging machines that make it possible to make the correct diagnosis of a patient’s ailment without opening his body.
This fascinated John Fritz to take up the RadTech course, believing that this would greatly help him in the attainment of his ultimate dream, that is, to be a doctor. The fascination grew as he got to use said imaging machines and equipment in college, such as, x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computer tomography (CT), fluoroscopy, ultrasound, echocardiography and nuclear medicine. This inspired him in his studies and his efforts rewarded him the honor of being in the Top 7 in the 2022 Radiological Technologists Licensure Examination.
For a serious student like John Fritz, the Covid pandemic brought great difficulties in his studies for almost two years. But he believes in readiness in all activities he considers important in his life, and in this case, his studies: he is never absent in class; he is attentive to his professors and makes extra research on his own after every class discussion. A deeply religious person, he believes in Divine assistance and God’s presence in his life.
Dean Glenda Mondiguing of the Radiologic Technology College attests that John Fritz is a very diligent student.
John Fritz enrolled at Arellano University at the prodding of his father, who is an alumnus of AU. In addition, he learned from social media about AU’s affordable tuition fees, and excellent instruction, as evidenced by its high passing rate in board examinations.
The Radiologic Technology College of AU was established in 2011 with a small enrolment. But it has grown through the years because of the increasing demand for this expertise both here and abroad. In the last five years the Arellano University College of Radiologic Technology has already contributed 115 licensed radiological technologists to this demand.
