Twenty-five HRM and tourism students from Arellano University (AU) Main Campus attended the In-Flight Training Course at the Suan Dusit University(SDU) in Hua Hin, Thailand on January 5-25, 2020. The students were accompanied by two faculty members, Ms. Ma. Lourdes Tagana and Mr. Rick Jayson Prepose.
The training was conducted inside the Mock Room, which was equipped with facilities found inside an airplane. The students learned the activities and duties of flight attendants such as first aid, how to handle guests and what to do in case of emergencies-such as a plane crash.
Aside from the classroom activities, the students were treated to a New Year Party where they met the officials, faculty and students of the school. They had a grand time in attending a learning session on Muay Thai, the popular Thai martial arts. They were also treated to tours in several tourist places such as the market village, St. Theresa Catholic Church in Moonsoon Valley winery, Hua Hin safari, the Rajabak Park, and the cicada market. As Bangkok is known for shopping, the students were able to do it at the end of a four-hour trip from SDU to the city.
The activity is part of the annually held exchange program between the two universities that has been on-going since 2014. Thai students are expected to attend a four- week English Program Course at the Arellano University Main Campus sometime in July, 2020.
