Two thousand one hundred forty four college students from five campuses of Arellano University – 338 from Andres Bonifacio Campus, AU Pasig; 471 from Jose Abad Santos Campus, AU Pasay; 124 from Jose Rizal Campus, AU Malabon; 78 from Plaridel Campus, AU Mandaluyong and 904 from Juan Sumulong Campus, AU Manila (Main Campus) - 21 from the Graduate School and 208 from ETEEAP for a total of 2144 - received their diploma on April 6, 2019 at the Philippine International Convention Center, Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.
Leading the graduates were Kim Russel Asturiano, BSED from AU Pasig, Class Valedictorian and Edgieson Julius C. Canquin, BSBA-HRDM from AU Manila, Class Salutatorian. In the Graduate School level, the top graduates were Alinor M. Camal, Master of Arts in Education, With Honors; Ricky S. De Leon, Master of Arts in Education, With Honors; Consuelo V. Vicera, MA in Education, With Honors; Hapsah H. Macaraya, MA in Psychology, With Honors; and in ETEEAP, Yasmien Kurdi, Magna Cum Laude.
At 8 o'clock in the morning the students from Jose Abad Santos Campus, Andres Bonifacio Campus, Jose Rizal Campus, and Plaridel Campus, Mandaluyong City received their diploma. The students of the Main Campus, AU Manila graduated at 1 o’clock in the afternoon.
The Guest Speaker on both occasions was The Honorable Samira Ali Gutoc-Tomawis, an Arellano University College of Law alumna. She obtained her degrees in Communication and Master in International Studies at the University of the Philippines – Diliman. Likewise, she obtained a fellowship at the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies. She is a newly appointed member of the expanded Bangsamoro Transition Commission. The Hon. Samira Gutoc has worked with an array of stakeholders for the past 17 years as a journalist, manager, consultant, environmentalist, trainor, activist, and organizer.
