The COVID-19 outbreak has significantly altered both social norms and operations of our institution. From enrollment, to conducting of classes, to extra-curricular activities, the new norm is observed with social distancing and strict sanitation practices. The outbreak has called for changes in our everyday lives, yet not with the requirements students are expected to fulfill.

Coming off a heartbreaker to Perpetual that halted Arellano University’s unbeaten run through the NCAA Season 95 Women’s Volleyball Tournament, Regine Arocha refused to let her team fall into a slump on Tuesday afternoon.
The approval of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the resumption of the conduct of competitive contact sports, specifically men’s basketball and women’s volleyball, was met with great appreciation by school authorities, students, alumni, and other sports enthusiasts.
However, the approval is hinged on very strictly following the safety protocols based on the guidelines issued by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Health (DOH), the IATF, and the Local Government Units (LGU) under a system called the “Sports Bubble”.
The Business Administration team showed its prowess in basketball when they emerged winner over AU Pasay, the defending champion, in the fiercely fought final game of the Inter-Collegiate Intramurals 2020 held at the AU Gym on February 21, 2020. In volleyball, AU Pasay defeated the Tourism and Hospitality (AU Main) team .
In basketball, Benedict Hopilena was awarded Most Valuable Player, and Mr. Bismarck Bustonera, Best Coach.
Twenty-five HRM and tourism students from Arellano University (AU) Main Campus attended the In-Flight Training Course at the Suan Dusit University(SDU) in Hua Hin, Thailand on January 5-25, 2020. The students were accompanied by two faculty members, Ms. Ma. Lourdes Tagana and Mr. Rick Jayson Prepose.
The training was conducted inside the Mock Room, which was equipped with facilities found inside an airplane. The students learned the activities and duties of flight attendants such as first aid, how to handle guests and what to do in case of emergencies-such as a plane crash.
The President of Alderson Broaddus University (AB), Dr. James “Tim” Barry made his first visit to Arellano University (AU) last January 20, 2020. He was with Dr. Joan Lynn Propst, the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs and the AB International Nursing Program Director. AB, which is located in Philippi, West Virginia USA, is a partner institution of AU in the nursing education. Dr Barry’s visit has been seen as a show of support to the 13- year old AU-AB innovative nursing program partnership.
Arellano University inched closer to a Final Four spot in the NCAA Season 95 Men’s Volleyball Tournament after dismantling Colegio de San Juan de Letran in straight sets, 25-22, 25-12, 25-17, Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
The win catapulted Arellano to third seed with a 5-2 slate.
Still, head coach Sherwin Meneses is keeping his players on their toes while putting a premium on a step-by-step approach for the rest of the preliminaries.

Arellano University turned back Jose Rizal University with a balanced offensive charge, coming away with a hard-earned 25-19, 25-23, 22-25, 25-16 victory in the NCAA Season 95, Thursday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
