Barangay Burol, a depressed area in Mandaluyong City became alive with the visit of the high school department faculty members and Community Development (ComDev) group of Plaridel Campus.

On April 6, 2022 the AU group met with 60 children aged 4 – 10 years old, together with their parents. Mr. John Paul Paraggua, ComDev and OSA Coordinator of Plaridel Campus has earlier sought the help of the Barangay Captain, Mr. Ernest R. Santos, for the orderly conduct of the activity. Mr. Santos readily cooperated by providing seats and tables, sound system and other necessitates for the meet-up.

During the impromptu program, a teacher explained the need for a healthy diet for children. Another teacher led the kids to take part in dancing, and other fun-filled activities. This was followed by a merienda consisting of spaghetti, cupcakes, lemon squares and hotdog.

For the Barangay Burol kids, it was truly a day to be remembered.

To express their appreciation and gratitude for the event the parents and the older children happily participated in cleaning and fixing the area of the activity.

Mr. Paragua was assisted by the Junior and Senior high school teachers and staff which include the following: Jenica Santos, Marc Kenneth Aguilar, Ilaygri Villero, Meryll Lyka Agub, Jomar Josep Jacinto, Cristy Relos, Reynante Baybado and Abmer Bacquiran.
