After three years of virtual competitions a live AU-Juan Sumulong beauty pageant was held by the Supreme Student Council in the evening of February 18, 2023 at the Plaridel Hall of the university.
Mr. Aldreje Tuazon of the Political Science Department and Ms. Jahaizel Shanne Gamulao of the Psychology Department were declared Mr. and Ms. Arellano University-Legarda. They bested five other male and female contestants coming from different departments of the university. They will also compete with the Mr. and Ms. winners from the other Arellano University campuses for the title Mr. and Ms. AU Inter Branch Title.
The candidates showed their charm in the presentation of casual wear, sportswear, and most specially in the national wear where their attires were inspired by the culture and traditions from different parts of the country. Also, their presentation of their evening wear exuded elegance and grace, further enhancing the Question and Answer portion of the contest.
Other winners were 1st Runner-Up Mr. Dave M Chis and Ms. Thalia Rose Detera; and 2nd Runner-Up Mr. Emerson Navarro and Ms. Lovely Joy Solis; Best in QnA Mr. Heaven Joy Prado and Ms. Thalia Roseera; Best in Sports Wear, Mr. Heaven Joy Prado and Ms. Ms. Jahaizel Shanne Gamulao; Best in National Costume, Mr. Aldreje Tuazon and Ms. Jahaizel Shanne Gamulao; and Best in Evening Attire, Mr. Emerson Navarro and Ms. Thalia Rose Detera.
Adding excitement to the ecstatic audience were raffle items from the Marketing Department of the university, consisting of umbrellas, tumblers, and AU t-shirts.
