The 100th season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) had its opening ceremonies on September 7, 2024 at the Mall of Asia Arena (MOA Arena).

The breath-taking performance of the AU Chiefsquad in the NCAA Season 98 Cheerleading Competition gave the AU team its fourth straight win with the score of 245.5 points. The AU Chiefsquad got its first championship trophy in season 92 in 2017, and its 2nd, 3rd and 4th championship wins in the NCAA Season 93, 94 and 98. There were no NCAA cheerleading competition during the pandemic years.
Jiovani Jalalon took the wheel in clutched and steered the ship for Arellano as it survived Perpetual, 84-77, in an overtime classic Friday in the NCAA Season 91 men’s basketball tournament at San Juan Arena.
