By admin, 7 May, 2026

The Arellano University – International Nursing program welcomed a new batch of students from Gunma University of Health and Welfare to its Clinical Community Placement Program last March 15 to Mar 22, 2026.

As part of AU-INP’s fifth year of collaboration with Gunma University under the CCPP program, 18 Japanese students, accompanied by their professors, visited Manila for a week-long immersion to deepen their understanding of Philippine culture and learn the country’s healthcare system.

The program included visits to several public and private healthcare institutions in Manila, including The Medical City, St. Camillus Medhaven Nursing Home and Concordia Children’s Services, Inc. Assisted by AU-INP professors and students, the group was also taken to partner community agencies of Arellano University in Pampanga, the Kapampangan Development Foundation, Inc. (KDF), which delivers essential health services to surrounding communities.

In addition, the Japanese students participated in a health screening activity for Grade 2 pupils at Arellano University’s main campus in Legarda. They also conducted sessions on proper handwashing and dental hygiene and facilitated interactive activities featuring Japanese arts and crafts. A similar outreach effort was carried out during their visit to an Aeta community in Pampanga, where they engaged with local children and developed a greater appreciation of Aeta culture.

The program concluded with visits to local tourist and historical spots in Manila, which allowed the participants to experience and explore Philippine culture.
