Global Hoops, Local Pride: Coach Chico Manabat Represents Arellano University at Coaching U Live 2026

Las Vegas, NV — Representing Arellano University on an international stage, Arellano Chiefs Head Coach Chico Manabat, along with First Assistant Coach Timothy Taclas and Managing Consultant Andy Vergara, recently participated in the prestigious Coaching U Live 2026 conference, held from July 10 to 12 in Las Vegas.

The three-day coaching seminar brought together top basketball minds from around the world. Reflecting on the experience, Coach Manabat shared his excitement about connecting with legendary figures he had previously only watched on television, including current and former NBA players and renowned international coaches from China, South Korea, Indonesia, Italy, Romania, and Serbia.

According to Coach Chico, one of the team’s proudest moments happened right when they arrived at the venue. Wearing their official Arellano University uniform, they immediately caught the attention of international delegates. Many were curious and asked where they were from, giving them an opportunity to proudly represent both Arellano and the Philippines on the global stage.

The event gave Coach Chico valuable insights into building a strong, successful basketball program. He plans to combine these new strategies with traditional player development.

"No matter what position or status a player has—pro or non-pro—if you focus on efficiency, consistency, grit, and the right culture, you will get good results," Coach Chico shared.
