On June 23, 2026, the Arellano University Supreme Student Council–Manila hosted “Freshie Day 2026: A Unique Beginning,” a welcoming event for incoming freshmen and transferees for Academic Year 2026–2027.
A key highlight of the program was a seminar conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through its Consumer Protection and Advocacy Bureau (CPAB), entitled “Konsyumer Assembly sa Eskwela (KAsE).” The seminar focused on raising consumer awareness and educating students on their rights and responsibilities as consumers, equipping them with the knowledge needed to make informed, responsible purchasing decisions.
In celebration of Consumer Welfare Month, carrying the theme "Safe Products, Confident Consumers," the DTI recognized Arellano University’s proactive efforts to promote consumer awareness and protection among students. On October 21, 2026, Arellano University was invited to the Stakeholders’ Appreciation Ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, Ortigas Center, Quezon City, where the university was officially honored as a Consumer Rights Champion.
Representing the university at the awarding ceremony were: Ms. Catherine S. Mancenido, Branch Office of Student Affairs (OSA) Coordinator of Juan Sumulong Campus and Ms. Janaan O. Dela Peña, Secretary, AUSSC-Manila.
This recognition underscores the University’s commitment to empowering students through consumer education and advocacy, as well as its continuing support for initiatives that promote consumer rights and responsible consumer practices within the academic community.
