Arellano University was born out of the Arellano Law College which opened in 1938. It was named after Cayetano Arellano, first Chief Justice of the Philippine Supreme Court. The war stopped its operations but was reopened in 1945, as Arellano University. It has grown into seven campuses in the National Capital Region, offering pre-school to college education.

All through this growth of the university, the Arellano Law College, renamed Arellano School of Law, continued its progression in academic excellence, periodically producing bar topnotchers and a great number of bar passers over the past years and becoming the source of successful law practitioners of the country.
