The beautiful governor of Batanes Province, the Honorable Governor Marilou H. Cayco, was elected for a second term in the recent mid-term elections. She was proclaimed amidst great celebrations of her supporters on May 16, 2019, after a delay caused by an SD malfunction in one of the precincts.  

Governor Cayco garnered 5753 votes as against her opponent, a former governor of Batanes, Mr. Telesforo Castillejos, who got 3547 votes. She won in all the voting precincts in the province, an affirmation of the support of the Ivatans who now refer to her as “Ina ng Batanes.“

The on-the-job-training program of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management of Arellano University has given opportunity to its students to visit the United States under the Work and Travel Abroad USA Program. 

Last summer 2018, a total of  31 AU students - 19 from the Legarda Campus and and 12 from the Jose Abad Santos Campus, AU Pasay - were accepted to the 3-month Work and Travel program in the United States. Through our partner agency, our students were deployed for training and exposure at different hospitality-related establishments.

Two thousand one hundred forty four college students from five campuses of Arellano University – 338 from Andres Bonifacio Campus, AU Pasig; 471 from Jose Abad Santos Campus, AU Pasay; 124 from Jose Rizal Campus, AU Malabon; 78 from Plaridel Campus, AU Mandaluyong and 904 from Juan Sumulong Campus, AU Manila (Main Campus) - 21 from the Graduate School and 208 from ETEEAP for a total of 2144 - received their diploma on April 6, 2019 at the Philippine International Convention Center, Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.

On October 24, 2018 Arellano University signed a Memorandum of Agreement with ACADSOC Online Academic Society, a branch of the Shenzen Acadsoc Limited Company which is based in Shenzhen, China. The signatories are Chairman and CEO Francisco P.V. Cayco for Arellano University and Mr. Qing Zhang, Chief Operating Officer Shenzhen Acadsoc Limited Company.

ACADSOC contacted Arellano University to explore the possibility of offering job opportunities for our students and graduates as online English tutors.

The Arellano University Faculty Organization (AUFO), headed by its President, Ms. Sonia Dignadice, held its 2nd Faculty and Recognition Night in a formal gala affair at the Oasis Manila on October 12, 2018. Leaving their classrooms, recitations and examination for a moment, the college faculty members from the five out of seven campuses of Arellano University, in their resplendent gowns and coat and ties, enjoyed a night of fun, celebrating the years of service of their colleagues, imparting knowledge, skills and values to the youth.

Computer Science students of Arellano University now have the opportunity to graduate in Australia after the signing of an academic partnership agreement between Arellano University and the Australian Institute of Higher Education (AIH), which is situated in Sydney, Australia.

The Chairman and CEO of Arellano University, Mr. Francisco P.V. Cayco signed the agreement together with Ms. Michelle Willoughby who represented the Australian Institute of Higher Education in the ceremonial MOA signing held on August 7, 2018 at Arellano University.

La Auxion, the college band of Jose Rizal Campus, AU in Malabon lorded over 12 others in the elimination competition held at the Main Campus on July 19, 2018. Nine senior high school and four college bands wowed the ecstatic audience which stayed on to watch and cheer, with the winds and rain of Typhoon Josie.

The two other bands that competed in the final elimination were Second Spring, a senior high school group from Juan Sumulong Campus, and Traffic Jam, a senior high school band from Andres Bonifacio Campus.
