La Auxion, the college band of Jose Rizal Campus, AU in Malabon lorded over 12 others in the elimination competition held at the Main Campus on July 19, 2018. Nine senior high school and four college bands wowed the ecstatic audience which stayed on to watch and cheer, with the winds and rain of Typhoon Josie.
The two other bands that competed in the final elimination were Second Spring, a senior high school group from Juan Sumulong Campus, and Traffic Jam, a senior high school band from Andres Bonifacio Campus.
Mr. Vic Caridad, ABS-CBN Sports Executive Producer, who was one of the judges in the contest, announced that the NCAA intercollegiate competition will be held sometime in November, 2018.
Aside from the two finalists, the senior high school bands that joined the contest were: Juanito’s Band of Juan Sumulong Campus; MBN Band of Apolinario Mabini Campus; Implead of Elisa Esguerra Campus; Band Paper, Juan Sumulong Campus; Vior, Plaridel Campus; Siete Onse, Jose Abad Santos Campus; Dimasalang, Jose Rizal Campus.
In addition to La Auxion, the college bands were Project Velvet of Juan Sumulong Campus, The Lobby of Juan Sumulong Campus and KND Band of Andres Bonifacio Campus.Â
The activity was organized by the Office of Student Affairs, headed by Dean Victoria D. Triviño.
