With all the stories of violence, corruption in government, calamities and devastation we hear on a day-to-day basis, the following story from Perrine Laureta (perrine.laureta@gmail.com), touches our hearts, regenerate our hopes and make us, again, proud of our country and our countrymen. We honor the parents of the these two boys; congratulate the administrators, faculty and staff of Plaridel Campus for upholding the Vision and Mission of Arellano University, and we thank Ms. Perrine Laureta, for taking time out of her busy schedule, to pay homage to these two faceless, nameless admirable students.
This is her letter:
Good day!
I just want to share a story that happened this day July 26,2018 at around 2 in the afternoon and say thank you for teaching your students good values. Today, I saw two young boys who helped a girl student from another school and an old lady in a different situation. When I was walking home from my school, a college student from Gateways Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) stepped out of the jeepney and her things dropped to the ground and this Senior High school boy student from Arellano University immediately helped the girl pick up her things in the middle of the road. This happened in front of the Barangay Hall of Daang Bakal.
As I continued walking home another boy student from Arellano helped this old lady cross the road, he even shared his umbrella to her because it was sprinkling outside. When I passed by this guy I whispered to myself to God bless the two students.
For the two male students, I may not know who you are but I will always remember the good things you did today. What you showed was an act of true kindness and a true
gentlemen. God bless both of you and good luck to your future endeavors.
On behalf of me a third year medical technologist student from Centro Escolar University is saying thank you and God bless all Arellanites. Continue to teach students not only knowledge but also good values. Hail to the Chiefs!
