Your Path to New Zealand! AU-IPD Orientation Opens Doors for Education and Psychology Students

November 2025 — Arellano University’s International Programs Division (AU-IPD) successfully conducted a highly valuable and well-attended program entitled, “Study and Career Opportunities in Te Rito Maioha New Zealand for Education and Psychology Students Orientation.” The empowering event took place on November 24, 2025, at the Little Theater of the AU Legarda Campus.

The primary objective of the orientation was to illuminate a concrete pathway for Arellano University’s Education and Psychology students toward international academic and career opportunities through the strategic partnership between Arellano University and Te Rito Maioha – Early Childhood New Zealand. The event was hosted by the dedicated administrative staff of the International Programs Division, Ms. Aira Estrada.

The program commenced with opening remarks delivered by Mr. Sherwin Punla, Dean of the Office of Student Affairs. Dean Punla powerfully highlighted the intrinsic value of global academic exposure, encouraging students to proactively explore international opportunities that serve to significantly enhance both their professional competencies and personal growth.

Following the opening remarks, Mr. Philip M. Flores, Director of International Academic Linkages, provided an in-depth discussion. He expounded on the solidified partnership between Arellano University and Te Rito Maioha, offered a brief overview of the country, and detailed the application process for studying in New Zealand.

The main lecture, delivered by Mr. Jay Arañas, Managing Director of Right Education NZ, an education agency, which is also partnered with Arellano University, offered an extensive and practical overview for the students. Mr. Arañas provided detailed insights into:

  • Study Pathways at Te Rito Maioha, especially in early childhood education.
  • Work Opportunities and post-study career prospects in New Zealand.
  • Cultural Life and the general experience of living in New Zealand.

He shared practical insights on academic expectations, navigating the application processes, and the unique advantages of pursuing an internationally recognized early childhood education at Te Rito Maioha.

Right Education NZ also operated a consultation booth during the program to address student inquiries and provide personalized assistance.

After that informative lecture, the floor was opened for an interactive Question and Answer session. This segment allowed students to directly raise their concerns and inquiries, ensuring complete clarity on the information and addressing their individual needs and aspirations.

The program concluded with closing remarks delivered by Mr. Philip M. Flores, who stepped in on behalf of the initially scheduled Dean Sammy Q. Dolba of the College of General Education and Liberal Arts. Mr. Flores utilized the moment to reaffirm the immense value of international academic experiences and underscored the university’s unwavering commitment to supporting students in their pursuit of global competencies and excellence.

On behalf of the entire Arellano University community, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the International Programs Division for implementing such a successful and impactful event. This orientation represents a significant opportunity, especially for students aspiring to study abroad, to explore and achieve their dreams at the highest level. We eagerly anticipate more collaborative events that continue to expand the global horizons for our students!
