The  principals of the high school and elementary departments of Arellano University held their academic planning for School Year 2019-2020 at the scenic Alphaland in Itogon, Benguet on May 8-10, 2019. 

The high school principals were Ms. Anavelle O. Gambayan of Juan Sumulong High School, Ms. Vilma S. Dominguez of Jose Abad Santos High School, Ms. Virginia M. Politico of Andres Bonifacio High School, Ms. Ma Aileene Dela Cruz of Jose Rizal High School and Ms.Lydia T. Terrado of A. Mabini High School.

The beautiful governor of Batanes Province, the Honorable Governor Marilou H. Cayco, was elected for a second term in the recent mid-term elections. She was proclaimed amidst great celebrations of her supporters on May 16, 2019, after a delay caused by an SD malfunction in one of the precincts.  

Governor Cayco garnered 5753 votes as against her opponent, a former governor of Batanes, Mr. Telesforo Castillejos, who got 3547 votes. She won in all the voting precincts in the province, an affirmation of the support of the Ivatans who now refer to her as “Ina ng Batanes.“

Mr. John Michael Collantes, enrolled in AB Psychology and Ms. Josephine Lubao, a BSED student, Major in Social Sciences, both under ETEEAP, were visited by ETEEAP  officials from February 24-28, 2019 for work validation. The former is employed as a Shift Supervisor at Al Qurum, Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) while the latter works as a Senior Administrator in Majid Al Futtaim Properties in Dubai, UAE.  

The assessment was made by Dr. Belen Chu, External Assessor, AU-ETEEAP and Dr. Eduardo Dela Cruz, Dean of the College of Education, Main Campus.

Led by Ms. Yasnien Kurdi, Magna Cum Laude, 210 students of the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) were conferred their degrees and received their diploma at the 81st Graduation Ceremony of Arellano University.

The students are enrolled in the College of Education, 52 majoring in Secondary Education; in the College of Arts and Sciences, 60 majored in English, 24 in Political Science, 73 in Psychology and 1 in AB History.

In a night of glam and pomp  the mantle of leadership of the National Collegiate Athletic Association ( NCAA)  Season 95 was transferred to Arellano University by  the  Season’s 94 host , the University of Perpetual Help System – Dalta. . 

The turn-over ceremony was held at the The  Bayleaf in Intramuros on April 24, 2019. It was a first time for Arellano University to host the season in its 10-year membership in the oldest college sports league in the Philippines.

On 10th year of membership in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Arellano University, for the first time, will be hosting the oldest college sports league in the country.

To launch the hosting, a Gala Night, also a first in the history of the league, will be held on the occasion of the turn-over ceremony between the University of Perpetual Help System-Dalta, the Season 94 host, and Arellano University to be held at The Bayleaf, Intramuros on April 24,2019. The opening of the season is on July 6, 2019 at the Araneta Coliseum.

The on-the-job-training program of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management of Arellano University has given opportunity to its students to visit the United States under the Work and Travel Abroad USA Program. 

Last summer 2018, a total of  31 AU students - 19 from the Legarda Campus and and 12 from the Jose Abad Santos Campus, AU Pasay - were accepted to the 3-month Work and Travel program in the United States. Through our partner agency, our students were deployed for training and exposure at different hospitality-related establishments.

Two thousand one hundred forty four college students from five campuses of Arellano University – 338 from Andres Bonifacio Campus, AU Pasig; 471 from Jose Abad Santos Campus, AU Pasay; 124 from Jose Rizal Campus, AU Malabon; 78 from Plaridel Campus, AU Mandaluyong and 904 from Juan Sumulong Campus, AU Manila (Main Campus) - 21 from the Graduate School and 208 from ETEEAP for a total of 2144 - received their diploma on April 6, 2019 at the Philippine International Convention Center, Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.

After a successful visit in 2017 Gunma University Gunma Prefecture, Japan sent a second batch of 27 Nursing and 2 Social Welfare students to attend the Community Clinical Placement Program (CCPP) of the International Nursing Program (INP) of Arellano University from March 17-March 25, 2019. 
The students were accompanied by three professors: Prof. Atsuhiko Taguchi, Prof. Yoko Kobayashi and Prof. Eiko Tokita.
